Hi all!
just a quick update..I just spent the week working in the mountains...travelling to Montrose, Beaver Creek

, Grand Junction, Glenwood Springs, Steamboat, and Grand Lake! WHEW!
Now home to recover for 2 weeks, catch up on work/house..then I leave for DURANGO..the BEST week of the YEAR!!

Knee update..seeing a second doctor June 22nd. First one said I have to have a full knee replacement- i have zero cartlidge left in my knee, and a torn miniscus. YUK. Still praying for a miracle..but that miracle might be surgery. :/

Hoping for at least some pain relief with my PT and walking in the water...it is working pretty good so far- I was at a constant 7 or 8 on the pain ladder, now at about a 3. not bad!

Hi Everyone! So, since Facebook got so big, I kinda slacked on my blog. But my friend Paige has inspired me to keep it up so...here is my quick update from 2008...to NOW.

Life is good. Life is better than good..I have been very blessed the past few years. I was able to finally become a homeowner...and I have been doing a job that I LOVE..and able to perform as well. Some highlights include playing Martha in "The Secret Garden " and the Narrator in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat"...teaching at DPAC camp ( this year will be the 5th year..I can't believe it! ) A dream visit to NYC at Christmastime..Great shows with eLeMeNO-P and Broadway Rocks....Several trips to Kentucky... all is great!

I have only one kind of yuk thing right now...my dreaded KNEE. UGH!

In August, I hyperextended it. Doing something dumb, like walking. ( I am sure this surprises no one. ) And true to form, I ignored it..because I thought it would go away. After Joseph, I finally went to the doctor...and got this news.. I have a torn MCL, a stress fracture, and pretty severe arthritis and near bone on bone on my left knee. I have since then tried every remedy...KNOWN TO MAN.

Here is a partial list...

Walking in the water against the current

low sugar diet

NSAIDs ( celebrex and naproxen)

so..DPAC this year was even more of an experience than last year. I think mainly because Dan and Chris were there..and it made me realize that our friendships are what these kids at DPAC are creating today. It has been 23 years since Chris, Dan, and Chris J met...and I count them as my nearest and dearest. Seeing the camp thru their eyes was incredible. This year, the classes were really amazing... the teachers incredible. Dan and Chris taught a class on music appreciation, lyric writing and almost a history of music..and it taught the kids so much. Brett taught an incredible Neutral mask class, which actually brought me to tears one day..it was so moving and beautiful. Giving the kids the opportunity to experience emotion without fear...beautiful.

and again..the most wonderful counselors and campers..willing to risk, to experience JOY..to support each other, to learn..to figure out how to talk to their accompianist..and thank them...to work as a team..to grow together... wow.

and then..there was the fact that Dan and Chris's girls..out of all 60 campers...BOTH have a crush on Keri's son. What are the odds? To me..it is more than that..is is that magic that we were able to create all those years ago coming to life again for the next generation...and how amazing will it be for them to have their own stories in the years to come..

The bottom line is this..as I approach the end of my 30's..there has to be more than this. I am convinced that we will do something great in the next few years...it's time.:)

Many of you have followed my blog and saw the post where I showed the desk I wanted..( see above first photo..).a Mackenzie Childs piece to the tune of $2400...a little beyond my budget..so here is the version that my sister Amy made me..WAY cooler..WAY more beautimous..I think it is the coolest thing I have in my house!! WHOO HOO!!!

I Love my sister. Not just because she is so incredibly creative..but because she is a great friend, a fantastic mom, and always willing to try something fun and new.Thanks Amy! I am happy every day working at my cool new desk..it makes me want to stay organized!! I am sorry about your tennis elbow, but sometimes you have to suffer for greatness! HAHA!! Thanks for being so awesome, and for making me something sooooo cool!!

On my last trip to Vegas for Vera Bradley, I got to hang out with one of my best friends Shaun Slaughter..we worked together for 6 years at Brighton and he is now the Director of Retail Operations at Vera Bradley..he is so GREAT! He and his beeyootiful wife and baby now live in Fort Wayne and I don't get to see him much...so we had a great time hanging out with his team of managers...

Didn't win any money..probably because we didn't gamble! :)

also included is a photo of my BATHTUB in the hotel room. It was huge. It had a flat screen TV in it. I was in HEAVEN..

Saturday night the Webb kids ( minus Nathan) went to see Gavin DeGraw...what an incredible show..he is one of the most genuine, talented, humble and entertaining performers I have ever seen. We had so much fun, screaming ourselves silly, getting autographs after the show..and generally acting as if we were 15 again. Amy and Andrew have a cool feature on their cameras that you can turn a black and white photo into a black and white with one color showing photo, which you can see some great examples of here. Also..for the moms....Amy and her kids, Rachel and her kids, and My mom with the girls...a happy Mother's day to all.

I just spent a week in Orlando at our Vera Bradley Premiere. Basically, this is an event for all the retailers to come to to see new fall product, and to take classes like inventory management, marketing, merchandising, etc..it is a full blown event! It was SO much fun, and I learned so much. Our WESTERN REGION team is the greatest..we bonded really quickly, and we really enjoy each other.. so above some fun photos of the trip.

so..i was reading two friends blogs today, and they both had quizes that they asked their kids..since i don't have any kids..i thought i would answer them! i like quizes, and i think that at any age, it is fun to know what you like, what is hard, who your friends are...so all you grown up bloggers out there...answer the questions! :)

What is your favorite food? Filet Mignon with grilled asparagus on the side.

Who is your best friend? Why? I have so many really good friends..I can't pick just one. My sisters Amy and Rachel, my other" sisters" Sarah and Paige, and Bev, Tammy and Tracy. They all feel like family ( well, my sisters really ARE family..and so is Bev..) but really they all make me feel loved, and they are always there for me, no matter what!

What makes you laugh?Clever people. My nieces and nephews. Family.

What is your favorite movie? A Room with a View

What are you most afraid of? people not liking me.

What embarrasses you the most? I am not easily embarassed, mainly because I fall down a lot! But probably looking dumb in front of people.

What is your favorite music? this is hard too..my favorite music changes all the time..right now I would say I am really loving Gavin DeGraw ( who we are going to see May 10!), Counting Crows, Derek Webb.

What makes you really angry?Girls with low self esteem. Girls who feel that they are not okay because they are not a size 2. Women in general, who are hurting because of these reasons.

What is your favorite activity? Performing

If you were parent for a day,what rule would you get rid of?I don't know of any. Except the one where you all have to wear matching outfits on Christmas and Easter.

What do you want to be when you grow up? I still havent' decided. Maybe a counselor.

This week I got to spend 2 days in Newport Beach with my fellow Vera Sales Consultants for our first ever Western Region Retreat! These ladies are incredible..all from many different backgrounds, but with fantastic ideas..and it was so wonderful to spend the day sharing ideas about our retailers, about training.. and just life on the job..( we do have a couple of guys too..they just were golfing!) The first day we were there before the meeting we got manicures/pedicures, then went to Balboa Island where Michelle's parents live..and sat on the deck, watched to boats..and just relaxed! So much fun!

this weekend was the 26th caring for kids..i have participated in 22 of them..it is a benefit to raise money to scholarship kids in the arts..this year our goal was to scholarship 5 kids! My good friend Tyra ( who i just did little shop with, and academy alum Leslie (vonforell) Zirker and I did a supremes medley..it was fun! what made it even more interesting is that I had been in the hospital all day on Friday- I woke up and had hives all over my body, went into anaphlyactic shock, and then 2 hours later..the whole thing happened again..so i had many drugs and hives all over me..but the show must go on! :) at least the hives weren't on my face !! They think it was a viral thing..and extension of the flu we all got in Utah...

Life is always an adventure!

So..a few weeks ago I got to go to VEGAS for the weekend! It was great fun..Bev and Tim ( my auntie and mentor and her husband.(.check out her amazing photography at http://www.waldensphotography.com/ to see their work...)were there to speak at the WPPI convention, and I was there to sell their product! We did very well..and had fun too! My other "mom" and dearest friend Annie Ballance ( for those of you who know when I lived with Betsy, the girl who is my little sister in Loveland..this is her mom. She lives here and so we had the added benefit of a great tour guide! We saw spamalot, we stayed at Paris, we saw the beautiful gardens and the water show at the bellagio, we had dinner at the Capital Grille.. ( the yummiest filet mignon..and great cake for bev and tim's anniversary, and I went nuts for a Mackenzie Childs desk that my faboo sister is going to make a copy of for me! all in all..a good time was had by all!

Nathan is the new manager of the theater in Park City..and we made a road trip to Utah this weekend to see him..dinner at Brit's house..singing, fun, kids dressed up in costumes..couldn't be better! Why don't we all live in the same town? It is always such a joy to reconnect..and it is amazing to me that we can be apart for months, years...etc..and jump right back in to our friendships as if we have never been apart. I love my friends..and I am so thanksful for friends that act like family!!

just some funny photos of the webb kids..nathan is moving tomorrow to park city, utah, to manage the movie theater there. He will probably be there about a year..and then move to a bigger theater, but this is the training theater where you start out! He got the job offer on Friday..and he is all packed up! His fiance lexie is pretty sad..although she has a wedding to plan..( they are getting married June 28th, then she will move then to Utah. )

so we decided to take a few photos..but we had to be a little funny..first holding our 3 year old pictures..then our senior pictures( which my mother still has under the couch..unframed!! :)

in memory of Tony Hudziak..

a very dear friend from my past theater life passed away this week. Tony Hudziak, who I first met in 1988, died on Wednesday. He was only 41 years old. Today, many of us celebrated his life at his memorial service in Longmont..and it was bittersweet and wonderful to see so many old friends! From left to right..Back row- ish...Scott Moore, owner of the Jesters Dinner Theater, Patrick Sawyer, a wonderful performer and singer who I first met doing Oklahoma at the Wayside Inn in 1988..He played Curly..and we went on to do many shows together..my favorite being "Baby" at the Carousel where we played husband and wife! Fred Rose, who just appeared in the Tony Award winning "Company", Chris Johnson, my bestest friend, Warren Sherril, owner of the Paragon Theater in Denver, Mark Johnson, a wonderful teacher and actor, Randy St. Pierre, an amazing performer who has done shows all over Colorado. Vandi , Sandra, and Nadine Holter, former owners of the Carousel Dinner Theater, Dan Pettit..a fireman here in Loveland who also did many shows with us, Nick Turner, owner of the Nonesuch and the new Candlelight Dinner Theater, then back to the front with Mary Lou Moore, co- owner of Jestrers, Me..you all know what I do, Susan St. Pierre, great performer from the Wayside, Camilla Johnson, faboo singer and dancer, and teacher! Melissa Swift Sawyer, the fabulous Patsy Cline from the Denver Center..Gina Schuh- Turner, actress and singer extrodinaire and co- owner of the Candlelight, Jenny Pettit..fantastic performer and teacher. As I type all this, I realize how talented a bunch of people we are..and how sad that it takes a death to bring us all together. The Wayside Inn would be celebrating it's 25th anniversary this year if it hadn't burned down..and who knows what great things could have happened there? It made me realize just how important it is to cherish the people in your life who love you , and who you love back.. Life is unpredictable and short..really. Tony was living in Longmont for the past 2 years..and none of us ever saw him. We will all regret that, always. I hope that this serves as a reminder to all of us to spend time while we can...and Tony..we will miss you.

okay..it is really snowy and cold, and I don't really have any interesting things to share...so I am just going to post some of my favorite photos..and tell you why and who they are.
sarah and jalyn- sarah is one of my BESTEST friends..she lives in San Antonio Texas. We worked for Steve at brighton together..and in this photo, we were training in California on the new computer systems..I have dark hair because I was playing Golde in Fiddler at the time..so we look like sisters!

Chris and Jalyn..we call this the engagement photo..taken from a high angle of course..and it is kind of obnoxious. But we were being goofy and having fun.. Chris and I have now known each other for 23 years. He is a great friend.

My two favorite acapella groups...eLeMeNO-P and Simplicated...both filled with the most wonderful, goofy crazy fantastic boys I have ever known. ( some of them are the same boys..just years later...)

i recently got to spend the evening with good friends Dan and Michelle Hoeye while I was in Fort Wayne at our National Sales Meeting. I can't believe how the kids have grown...Kylee,Taygen and Olivia are pictured here, Bella was asleep by the time I got around to taking pictures, so I didn't get any of her...

I also got to visit Dan at his office at Sweetwater..WOW~! It was incredible. Dan is the Director of Print Marketing for Sweetwater..he has an entire TEAM of people working for him..

it seems like just yesterday that Dan and Mike were working at the gas station, I was teaching at the academy and working at Jordan's, Chris was working at Maggies..(side note..I MISS MAGGIES!!I MISS ROSEMARY BREAD!!)
and we were driving and singing all around the west coast.....ahh..the good old days...

anyway..what fun to see their home, their beautiful kids..and laugh and tell stories of the old days. I learned that when Dan reads a certain Dr. Seuss book to his kids that has a character that sings really loud..he says "that's aunt Jalyn...she sings SO LONG AND LOUD!!" ...and then he imitates me.

so...of course we had a few minutes where the kids and I sang at the top of our lungs in the car.:)
what fun!!! Here is to good friends!!

well, i promised a few little shop photos...and here they are. The trio, my mom and her friends jody and doris with their heads in the plant,my parents and i with the plant. and then a cute photo of rachel and my nephew xander, who just turned 7. also, a photo of the entire webb clan minus amelia..this was before she was born!

so ...the udated part! I started my new job last week in Indiana for training..and i have to say, I think this is the greatest job and company!I love the product, and the people too..I think this is going to be a great year!

Little Shop opened, finally...and it really is a great show..the cast is really fantastic, and although tech week was really rough, a few people ( namely Seth, Joel and John) really stepped up to make this show come together. On Wednesday of last week, our plant puppeteer quit...2 days before we opened...we had a sub pianist ( who survived admirably, with only about a week's notice), and the plant was not complete...so....John Sosna, a great performer graciously agreed to puppeteer..and he has been fantastic. We finally got the set and plant done...and of course, the magic of theater came into play and we had a great opening.

We had reviewers come this weekend..so look for reviews in the Loveland and Fort Collins papers..hopefully they will be great!
My goals this week are to take down my tree and organize my house...let's see if I can get that done!

I also am looking forward to getting my samples and playing with all the new Vera Bradley product...stay tuned!

In 1988, I was in a production of Little Shop my senior year of high school..with my very good friends...Keri, Sarah, Sean, Vale, Charity, Chris and Dave. We had so much fun...and since I am about to open in Little Shop...2008.. i thought it would be fun to post the first version photos...and next week i will post some from this one!

christmas photos...of the webbs. the first is amy, my next in line sister and her 3 kids- tyler is almost 14, jake is 12 and katie is almost 9. next- all the webb girls and soon to be webb girls...amy, my mom lynda, jalyn in the back..and lexie ( nathan's new fiance), rachel, katie and baby amelia!

next. is a photo from Beauty and the Beast this summer..I just like it because...a.) I am a teapot. I love teapots, I collect teapots, and it is cool to be your favorite inanimate object.
b.) Scot ( gaston) is hot. He is a married father with 4 kids...but really good looking..and nice too...and the perfect Gaston. I just like being in a photo with him.

The tree is in my cute condo. My first tree that I have had since I moved back to Colorado..my first single person tree! My parents showed up one night in December- with a tree in a box..it had the lights on it and everything- and we set it up- I actually had enough ornaments! When I got divorced, I left everything in Kentucky except my clothes and shoes and music. ( Including ornaments..some even from childhood). 2 years ago some of my good friends had a surprise birthday party for me and everyone brought me ornaments..and this is the first time they have all been up! COOL!

Last..Amy, Rachel and I making our "DIVA" faces..my sisters always make fun of me and say that I pose like this... so now we always take a photo this way!

SO...my last day at Starbucks was yesterday! Yeah! I now have a week off before I go to Indiana for training..I am excited ! This is tech week for Little Shop- and I have never had a tech week that I wasn't working full time..so that will be awesome to have some time to really focus on the show. The show runs at the dinner theater in Greeley from Jan 11-March 2nd! Get your tickets...it is a great show!

i am taking a cue from my good friend and superb blogger gay slade, and reviewing the year! soo...what did 2007 hold?

Best Book...
well, anyone who knows me realizes that every book I read is the best..and every album, every song..so i will try and narrow it down.

I think my favorite book this year was "eat, pray, love" by elizabeth gilbert. I think the notion of taking a year to do those very things..is a great one. I don't know if i will ever be able to take a year off for a journey like that, but it sure would be amazing..and just following on her journey was incredible. A close runner up would be Harry Potter, of course..mainly because I waited so LONG to read it!

Best Album...has to be James Taylor, "one man band". I have always loved him, and this album is his best,i think. so great! I also really love the soundtrack from "across the universe" and the "sweeney todd" soundtrack..but maybe that is just because of johnny depp.

easy. the beautiful amelia..my newest niece.she is sideways because i don't know how to turn the picture.

she is being held by my equally cute sister, her mother rachel.
( who has 4 kids...so she is also slightly cuckoo. )

Worst moment...oh man. I think it would have to be the day that the sure shot ( the machine that holds the frappucino mix at Sbux) came undone and the entire content of said machine exploded onto me...that was a bad one. and probably the day I realized I probably was not long for the world of the bux.

sooo..that is a good start to my list.. more later when I figure out how to put pictures in the correct way.

Great new things for me...a new job, beginning Jan 14th as the Northern CO/Eastern WY Sales Consultant for Vera Bradley Handbags...check them out at www.verabradley.com~ I am so excited to get back to the things that I LOVE!

Also~ "Little Shop of Horrors" at the Union Colony Dinner Theater opens Jan 11th...thru March 2nd..please come see the show! It is a GREAT cast..if I do say so myself....
